Cover for Stormwalker

Have cool new cover for the first book of my series: Stormwalker.

The "prequel" to this series is in "A Little Night Magic," in the Hot for the Holidays Anthology. The heroine, Janet, doesn't appear, but I introduce the town of Magellan, Coyote, and some of the other characters.

More about this series on my Stormwalker page: http://www.allysonjames.com/stormwalker.html (and more info will appear there as we go on).

Book is pubbed May 2010!

Free Nocturne read by Bonnie Vanak (werewolves and vampires, oh my!)

I've been enjoying the werewolf series by Bonnie Vanak pubbed by Silhouette Nocturne (The Empath, Enemy Lover, and her Oct. release, Immortal Wolf). Hot shifters, cool magic, heroines in distress--oh yeah.

I started to get interested in a character called Indigo, a half vampire, half werewolf who's become part of the pack and is a tattoo artist. He's tasty!

I asked Bonnie if he would get his own story, and sure enough, he is--and it's FREE!

Starting today, you can read Indigo's tale: Seducing the Vampire at eHarlequin. One chapter a week.

Here's a taste:

**** (the following is copyright 2009, Bonnie Vanak)***
Crimson droplets welled up from the needle pricking sun-darkened skin. Puzzled by his bloodlust, Indigo Mercier focused on creating the tattoo. An odd tingling warned him something powerful had stirred his sleeping vampire half.

I am Draicon wolf, he silently chanted as he wiped Gabriel’s arm with a clean white cloth.

Sweat dripped down his temples as the tattoo gun whirred. He adjusted the gooseneck lamp and ignored his rising hunger. Indigo hadn’t taken blood in a full century. Dining on his adopted brother was not a good way to start.

“Ow, that hurts,” Gabriel Robichaux pretended to whine.

“Shut up and take it like a man,” asserted Raphael Robichaux.

“I’m a wolf, not a man,” Gabriel shot back.

“Move any more, and you’ll be a wolf with a crooked heart,” Indigo warned. “I told you to ease off the beer. Now you’re bleeding on me.”

Updates

The cool news is that Hot for the Holidays made USA Today at #50 and the New York Times list at #15! (That list will be published in the 10/18 edition of the NYT).

Yay!

Also, I have revamped and updated my entire website. New graphics, new info., new look. Check it out: http://www.allysonjames.com

Tales of the Shareem: Eland is in the hands of my editor, and I'm awaiting more info on that before I can post any pub dates and whatnot. I did, however add Eland to the Shareem page! http://allysonjames.com/ShareemSeries.html He's at the bottom.

Also check out my new pages on Pride Mates, which is coming in February under my Jennifer Ashley name. If you liked the Dragons you'll likely take to the Shifters. I introduce the series and let the hero, Liam, tell you a bit about himself and Shifters in general.

RAW!

I got back from Lora Leigh's Reader Appreciation Weekend (RAW) last Monday, but I've been crashing on getting a ms. done, plus I caught a cold (darn it), so I'm just now getting around to talking about....

How much fun it was!!!!

RAW is a smaller reader conference (about 250 people), but it focusses entirely on the reader. There are no writer's workshops, no panel discussions, nothin' like that. Readers party with their friends and buy books.

For me the writer, it was a great chance to catch up with my writer friends, meet readers, dance, and oh, yeah, buy books. (Not good enough for me that there was a ton of romances to buy at RAW, I had to walk across the street to another bookstore and stock up on mysteries and scifi fantasy as well. I am ill.)

I believe the next RAW will be in the same place (Huntington, WV), around the same time (September), but keep an eye out for details.
