FIREWALKER Countdown Giveaway--COYOTE
The countdown to FIREWALKER continues!
DAY 2--COYOTE
Janet to Coyote: “It's always so comforting to talk to you.”
Coyote chuckled. "I could do more than comfort, if you’d let me."
Coyote, the first character cast for the Stormwalker series, takes over every scene he’s in. He’s Coyote, the Native American god, and he can shape shift between a coyote and a big, hard-muscled Native American. He’s snarky, he’s funny, he’s powerful, and he’s strong, with a penchant for trouble and an eye for the ladies. He can be protective of the weak, and no one messes with those he protects. No one messes with him, period--except maybe Mick. Coyote has a lot of respect for Mick. (You can read more about Coyote in the novella: "A Little Night Magic," by Allyson James in the Hot for the Holidays anthology [Oct. 2009]).
From FIREWALKER:
“You’ve been a lot of help. As usual.”
“I’m not here to help, Janet,” Coyote said. “I’m here to keep the balance.”
“And screw as much as you can?”
“Yeah, that too.”
So, do you have a favorite mythological character? (from any mythos) Post below (or just say howdy) to enter the drawing for Stormwalker (or backlist book) and to be eligible for the grand prize.

I don't have a favorite. I'm intrigued by them all. It's just so interesting to find info on mytho characters. Thanks for the giveaway!
As a lover of Native American culture I know the story of coyote.
I'd like to get my hands on the HOT FOR THE HOLIDAYS antho.
But now that you've introduced him....I CAN'T WAIT TO READ STORMWALKER AND FIREWALKER!! :-)
One of my favorite mythological creatures is Cerberus.

Coyote is my favorite Native American god. I have always respected him and loved his adaptive ways. As a mammal paleontologist focused on wild canids, Coyote has been a big part of my life. He has also been a frequent visitor in his canid form. I would love a copy of Stormwalker to read about his exploits. :)
I totally enjoy Coyote, and all things relating to Native American Culture. The North East Nations hold a yearly Pow Wow very close to my home and we always attend. My partner's friend from nursing school is a direct descendant of Pocahontas, and she has stories about the tribes of the Mid Atlantic Regions (Virginia).
I have always been interested in mythology and Native American culture. Coyote is another strong character. I am going to check out your books in this series. They really look like great reads!!
I love Coyote in your books. You never know what he is going to do. He might help or mess things up. That's a great character to have.
For me, I have to admit I am an Hephaestus fan from Greek Mythology. I've innately felt that he was a good god shunned my the others. What can I say, I always root for the underdog :-)
Hi Allyson,
"He’s snarky, he’s funny, he’s powerful, and he’s strong, with a penchant for trouble and an eye for the ladies". Sounds like my favorite kind of hero...

I have always been intrigued by Greek Mythology, stories featuring Apollo, Venus, Hercules..etc one of my favs. If I remember correctly is the " lord of the underworld" opening up the earth to capture a beautiful maiden and enticing her to eat 7 grapes to keep her 7 mos. Out of a yr.

Mmm Gotta Love a Trickster!!
Though I have to admit I love just diving into all mythos, but recently something on tv has turned me on to Norse mythology. Truly interesting research. Thanks for the contest.
I love tales of dragons. They are such awesome creatures and I enjoy reading about them.
I love coyote. He is so funny!
I love anything paranormal with a good sense of humor.
Coyote sounds like a blast!
I just love learning about new mythology. Well, it's not new, but it's new to me. So far, I think Coyote is pretty awesome (possibly my favorite).

Coyote makes me laugh every time he opens his mouth. Such snark! :D
I don't really claim a favorite (I like 'em all!), but the story of Persephone and Hades has always fascinated me.
I Have not read your book but I'm looking forward to someday.

He's definitely full of snark. I'm re-reading Stormwalker now. When he pees on Nash's tire, you can almost picture the look in his (Coyote's) eyes.
I'm so team Coyote. As far as my favorite mythological creature it would have to be.... is Big Foot mythological creaturey enough? I like him because my brother James runs like him... okay and he does resymbol him somewhat. lol.
Loved Stormwalker, can't wait to get my little claws into Firewalker. :)

Always thought Native American mythology was really interesting -- thanks for the character post. Wonder what tomorrow's will be? Enjoyed the excerpt as well.
Best,

Athena has always been my favorite, but I like Hades and Persephone, too.
