New series--Stormwalker
I'm writing like crazy, finishing up my first sorta urban fantasy (not set in a city, so not really urban), Stormwalker, which should be out next May.
The setting is northern Arizona, around the Navajo Nation. I went out and took a bunch of pictures to give me visuals while I'm in my writing cave. Here's a peek and you can see the rest on my mystery blog:

Can't wait to read this new series. I just got back from a trip through Northern Arizona and Southern Utah, twice driving through Navajo country. It is a world of surreal landscapes - vast stretches of raw hills and mountains covered in scrub. On both occasions, I was on Route 89, outrunning thunderstorms - and the sky was roiling, fork lighting striking the near and distant hills. At one point, coming up out of a curve in the road, I saw wild horses on top of a small (relatively small) mound of earth and rock. They were posing as if in a Frederick Remington bronze.
I'm excited I get to set a story in Northern AZ. In the course of the series, my heroine (and her boyfriend) will travel around the area, visiting different parts of it.
Sounds like a great trip! The thunderstorms can be so cool (to watch, scary when you're in them). Neat about the horses, too. I bet it was just beautiful.
